A woman went viral when she asked TikTok to help her identify a mystery celebrity after she spotted people snagging photos with him on her flight – and it got so much traction that it even garnered a response from the star himself.
Paige Craig, an influencer from Orlando, Florida, was on a flight to Los Angeles, California, last week when she noticed that people kept approaching one of the guys who was sitting in her row and asking him for photos.
Based on the attention he was receiving from her fellow passengers, Paige had a feeling he was someone famous – but couldn’t figure out who he was.
She hoped the internet could help her out, so she took a quick clip of the VIP and uploaded it to TikTok – but what came next was something she never anticipated.

Paige had a feeling he was someone famous – but couldn’t figure out who he was, so she took a quick clip of the VIP and uploaded it to TikTok
‘Can someone tell me who this man is because people keep taking pics with him and I’m too scared to ask him who he is,’ she wrote in the video.
It began with the camera focusing on her face before she turned it to show a man with brown hair and glasses sitting in the seat next to hers.
‘Other information – he speaks Spanish and is a very nice man. Thank you for your service,’ she added in the caption.
The video got nearly 30 million views in a matter of days, and it received a slew of responses from people who were stunned over the fact that she didn’t recognize the star.
It turns out, the man seated near her on the flight was none other than Mexican actor and director Eugenio González Derbez.
He is best known for starring in the movies Jack and Jill (alongside Adam Sandler), Girl In Progress (which also starred Eva Mendes, Matthew Modine, and Patricia Arquette), Miracles From Heaven (opposite Jennifer Garner), Instructions Not Included – which is the most successful Spanish-language film in the US.
His other acting credits include How to Be a Latin Lover (alongside Salma Hayek, Rob Lowe, and Kristen Bell), Overboard (opposite Anna Faris), the Academy Award-winning Apple TV+ movie CODA, the comedy Dora and the Lost City of Gold, and most recently, the rom-com The Valet.
He’s also lent his voice to numerous animated films like The Secret Life of Pet and The Angry Birds Movie 2, and provided dubs for characters in the Spanish version of well-known American movies including Dr. Dolittle, Mulan, 102 Dalmatians, and Shrek.

While speaking to Insider about the incident, she explained that she uploaded the clip mid-flight, which mean she spent ‘five-ish hours’ worrying that he would come across it while they were still on the plane together.
She explained that while she initially debated taking it down after she got her answer, she opted to keep it up so that she could learn more about the actor through the comments.
Thankfully, he didn’t show any hints that he saw the video while they were in air. But by the next day, it must have caught his eye because he respond with a video of his own.
