A rundown home which has vines growing up the bathroom wall has gone on the market for £1 million.

The semi-detached five bedroom property has gone up for sale in the sought-after area of Highgate, north London, includes an overgrown garden and rooms which are full of clutter.

Pictures show the dining room is piled high with an assortment of possessions such as books, blankets, and vinyl records.

In the lounge, there are dirty sheets pinned up to cover the windows and several cardboard boxes piled up.

The home, which is in major need of refurbishment, will be sold at auction later this month.

In its advert, estate agents state it is in need for ‘mordernisation’.

A first bedroom has a bare mattress with a broken chair, while a second has damaged walls and the ceiling appears to be peeling.

The rest of the bedrooms are piled high with objects and the main hallway has a chest of drawers blocking the doorway.

The main bathroom has vines growing up the wall and over the bathtub.

However, detached properties in this area go for around £5.3 million on average, so this one is considerably cheaper but needs a fair bit of work.

It is being sold at auction on May 23 by McHugh and Co and advertised on Rightmove.
